All in one ptcl broadband problems and thier solutions for shiro modem




Note: this guide is only for people using shiro modem provided by PTCL. and it cover almost every problem on your own side.
you have to read it before blaming ptcl about their services.
either it is slow internet browsing or internet not working.
check your modems all three lights if they are not stable then its fault of your line.solve this problem if thats not your problem then follow other instructions
if you r facing de-synchronization and re-synchronization (on/off internet) problem then it is due to voltage drop or noise in your telephone line.
some time modem de-synchroniz due to damaged telephone cable.
use stabilizer with modem's adapter to control voltage drop and call ptcl's costumer care center if there is noise in your line.
If you are experiencing more then 150ms+ Ping in shiro adsl 2/2+ or your ping is breaking periodically then firstly
Install a fresh copy of windows/scan it for viruses
if you know router's settings then restore your router to default and then make new connection(you may also take your routers configuration by calling ptcl's costumer care center write all settings in a paper for future changes).
if that will not solve your problem then change your modem and check your internet again if this step solve problem then there is problem in your router.
call ptcl's costumer care center and told them that my modem is not working properly and internet works fine if i change my modem.
they will not guide you exact procedure to change modem but maybe they will solve your problem(in many cases they solve problems that are on their own side).
I think i have to share ptcl modem changing procidure with you because i don't want to see any one in trouble like i was.
goto PTCL's head office directly with your ID card copy, full accessories with box of your modem and the receipt they give you when they are installing their connection.Ask any employ about store room of ptcl modems.
meet with store room's Incharge.
tell him that your modem is not working properly.
he will tell you to write an application to "xyz person" about modem changing
so write that application and hand him that application with you ID card's copy and signatures
he will change your modem if it is in warranty period(one year).
otherwise you have to buy new modem.
